Chamber & Member Announcements:
1. LCOC ANNOUNCEMENTS
a. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: The LCOC Board announced at its January 14 meeting that it has hired the first Executive Director for the Chamber. Jaimee Henbest will be transitioning into the role over the next couple of weeks, and starting in March, the Chamber office will be open 10 hours a week as a Welcome Center and gathering place. The Executive Director's role will be to help members get the most out of their membership, help grow the membership and extend the Chamber's reach and effectiveness in the community, and help manage the many events and activities that the Chamber has going on every month. Look for Jaimee next month at the General Membership meeting and around town!
b. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS: We had a great meeting and a great turnout of members for our January 14 General Membership Meeting. Thank you to Bob Goodyear from SCORE for a great presentation----kicking our year off. Our next General Membership meeting is Wednesday, February 11, at IL GIARDINO. Our main presenter will be Dawn Malinowski of SocialTrend Internet Solutions, and our member spotlight will be on LuAnn Ford, CPA. Please note that the cost for our monthly dinner meetings is $25 per person.
c. EVENTS COMMITTEE MEETING: The next Events Committee meeting has been rescheduled. It is now January 26 at 5:00 PM at the Home Turf offices at 3 Union Boulevard, Barnegat, NJ. Please plan to attend!
d. MULTI-CHAMBER NETWORKING EVENT: We are very excited for our Multi-Chamber Networking Event on January 29 at the Captain's Inn! Also, we have a couple of door prizes, but if your business would like to donate a door prize, please email the details to This email address is being protected from spambots. e. VALENTINE'S COMEDY NIGHT: Who wants to laugh? Come out to the 4th Annual Valentine's Comedy Night at the Captain's Inn. Better yet, bring your friends! Tickets are now for sale, and we are hoping for another sell out. This is one of our best fundraisers, and we can use some help to make sure that it is a success!
2. FROM OUR GANG PLAYERS
Help us Kick Off 2015 with Footloose! Enjoy one of the shows this coming weekend, Jan. 24 (Sat) @ 7:00 pm, and Jan. 25 (Sun) @ 2:00 pm. Footloose is musical version of the hit 1984 film. Rebellious teenager Ren McCormack moves to a small middle-American town where dance is forbidden - and encourages his classmates to defy the local pastor and call for a rock'n'roll prom. Performances held at Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven, NJ (201 Engleside Ave). There's three ways to get your tickets:

Come out to our special library system-wide event: “A Year in the Life of Downton Abbey” Main Branch, Toms River, 101 Washington Street. Saturday Jan. 24, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Friends of the Library are happy to host author Jessica Fellowes, author of the Downton Abbey Companion Books. Ms. Fellowes is the niece of Lord Julian Fellowes, creator and writer of “Downton Abbey.” She has written three official companion books to the Emmy-award winning show, including her latest, “A Year in the Life of Downton Abbey: Seasonal Celebrations, Traditions and Recipes,” that was released October 28, 2014. Ms. Fellowes will share her insights and the tips she has gleaned from the show during this Jan. 24th presentation. Tickets for the fundraiser are available at two price levels:

The local Cub Scouts of Pack 35 are gearing up for their annual Pinewood Derby on January 31. Every boy who participates gets a goody bag of toys, hats, shirts, etc. to take home.
